Industry Rating

Central States Health & Life Co. Of Omaha (CSO) is reviewed by A.M. Best, one of the most recognized rating companies in the insurance industry.  A.M. Best's ratings reflect an in-depth knowledge of the insurance industry developed during its 100-year history.

CSO has enjoyed Secure Ratings from A.M. Best who, in 2006, assigned Central States Health & Life Co. of Omaha a rating of B++ (Good).  Through a press release by A.M. Best dated February 7, 2006, it was announced that our rating outlook is stable.  The press release further stated:

“The stable outlook reflects CSO’s recent change in strategic direction, improving operating results and its recently improved capitalization.  During 2005, the company reinsured its cancer and Medicare supplemental lines of business to various reinsurers effectively exiting its supplemental business.  As a result of these transactions, capital and surplus now stands at a record level and earnings have returned to more historical levels.  The current focus of the company is strictly as a provider of credit insurance and related debt protection products in its large geographical areas”.
